Best video card for this computer?

In terms of value/performance;

Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (2 GHz...rated at 4?)

3 GB memory

Vista Home, I believe

It uses a PCIe x16 (I don't think it is 2.0)

I know it isn't a top end computer but I'm hoping it would be able to run some newer games at the lowest settings, or maybe even just older games like CS:Source and WoW on okay settings.

Just don't want to waste extra money on a video card that is too good for the processor/etc. Thanks.|||It's not too bad. The nVidia 9600 GT or one of the ATi Radeon 4700/4800 series cards would do.

If you're really paranoid about high power video cards, just go with an nVidia 8800 GT or another 8000 GT series.|||If your motherboard uses an ati series 7 or later chipset, than most ati pci-e cards will use what is called hypermemory, which means it will have more memory than what the card itself is rated at. eg: my radeon hd 3450 says 512mb on the box, but in my compaq presario sr1711nx ati chipset motherboard it has 1024mb. The model of your computer can be used to look up the model of your motherboard.
