why is it i'm seeing "out of range" when i start to play a game like warcraft or age of empire 3? I'm using 256MB RAM now, but when i was using 32MB RAM it was fine.
My screen resolution was 1024X768 and 72Hertz.
and i can't extend it to higher screen fresh rate.
same as 32MB video card with 1024X768 and 72Hz.
There's a sound but i can't see the interface.
I can play warcraft with 32MB just fine but when i upgrade it to 256MB ang hit the icon and play, "out of range"!!!
What would i do?
Help please!|||Holy crap, buy a new one; I'm worried for your health if you keep using that one. I'm sure its fine, but times are changin', son.|||The issue is that the monitor you are using is not able to handle either the resolution or the refresh rate that the game has been set to. That is why it is giving you the "out of range" because the resolution or refresh rate is going out of it's range of display ability.
What kind of monitor do you have? CRT or LCD?|||some games retain a ".cfg" file that stores your PC's setup. If your games have a "setup" file, rerun it with the newer video card or memory. If no setup file, save a copy of the cfg file somewhere else then delete the cfg file in the game directory. Usually when you start the game it will rebuild the cfg file again. If not, just bring the copy you made back to the game directory.
