Dell optiplex gs260 video card help?

i just bought an apg video card for my computer and when i plug it into the apg slot nothing happens the apg slot doesnt read. i went into my bios menu and i could not find anything to have to do with my apg slot being activated and i have video adapter set to auto. the only thing to do with my apg slot i found was set it to 32, 64, 128, or 256 mb and i set it to 128 which is the bit rating on the video card and still nothing happened. what am i looking for in the bios menu thats wrong? and what else could it be?|||What AGP video card did you buy?

It's possible you simply got a card which arrived defective, and needs exchanging.

It's also possible your new card requires more power than your existing power supply can provide (that's unusual, but certainly possible with a high-end card like a Radeon 3850- also keep in mind that high-end cards might require a cable from your power supply connected directly to the card)|||Try plugging the wire to the video card port (put the vga wire in the vga port of the video card). If this doesn't work you have a bad card. See if you installed the drivers too. Also call the company that makes them. You bios should be auto configured if you put in the card.
