How powerful of a video card can I run on 500watt 30A on 12v rail power supply ?

I'm running an AMD quad core 9600 (95w rated), 4bg ram, dvd burner and a hard drive. Everything else is integrated (sound/lan).



Thanks!|||You could run anything up to an nVidia 9800GTX/ATi 4850. These are top of mid-range, bottom of the monster class. But getting something as expensive as this will warrant getting a reliable, branded PSU with a warranty. Take a look at these:

Both of the above have the same net power out put because the second one is more efficient, and will both run cards upto as powerful as the ones I mentioned above. Don't risk trying one more powerful, though.





N.B. Although the first one has several safety measures in place and is a reliable brand, I am not sure if it comes with a warranty.
