Video card help PLEASE~!?

I have a nvidia geforce4 mx 440 video card that I just started using as an extra video out for my desktop. My main monitor runs off of the onboard video out. This new card that I installed as a s-video out that I can't seem to get to work properly. It is set up correctly as my additional monitor, and i have the latest drivers available for it. The screen is black with white specs and lines going across (not like a fuzzy tv when there is no cable). I have tried adjusting screen resolution and refress rate and all that seems to change is the pattern of the white dots and lines. I have also switched out s-video cables. I dont need something special that i'm missing as far as a cord goes do i? i have the standard gold plated four pin s-video cable. What could be wrong?|||Have you set the settings in your computer? Go to desktop, right click, go to properties then go to Settings and check there.
