My video card needs a 300w power supply?

I have a compaq EVO with a rated 230v power supply rated with 220watt output. All of the Nvidia cards I'm looking at require 250-300 watts on a power supply. Will the card run with an underrated power supply? What will happen if I try to use it?|||some cards can run efficiently with a low power supply, if you look at the system requirements on the video card box it will tell you the bare minimum power supply you can have. If you only have a 220 watt power supply and a video card says that it needs 300 watts DONT buy it. it wont work and it will defidently fry the video card, and will probably fry your motherboard, memory and processor.|||probably beep a lot,

get the new POWER SUPPLY, dont risk frying the new card|||It is not a good idea to run the card with hardware that does not meet the minimums. You can purchase and install a new power supply.
