i have a mobile intel 945GM express chipset video card in my dell E1705. i have heard from prople that the chip is intgrated into the motheboad and cannot be replaced, dell says this: "The Mobile Intel® 945GM Express chipset enables up to 25% higher data transfer rate compared to the previous generation bus speed. Additionally, it features PCI Express* x16 graphics ports and PCI Express x1 I/O ports, next generation Serial ATA, and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity." does this mean that i can upgrade it?|||You should be able to upgrade the graphics to the PCIEx16 slot card type. But instead of wasting your time on here, just call Dell. I say this because Dell is notorious for making products that have to be upgraded through their parts only. A laptop graphics card is going to be expensive, I'm sure, so I would just get with Dell in the first place to make sure you get the perfect one for your laptop... This answer isn't to sound snooty, only to help you save some money down the road... The link below is on the Dell website for analyzing your laptop and seeing any upgrades that is available for it...|||Go to Device manager and check for is there any updates for your video card,,or Go to windows update ( go to control panel , you can see windows update option on left-side ) go for custom installation of windowsu-pdate and check for any updates for hardwares.. and install them ,, sometimes this method will works better
AndhraYouth|||PCI express x16 is used for video cards.... I don't know how it could fit in your laptop though!
JK, you should be able to plug a mobile video card right in there.
