Right now I have a 9400gt 1gb as my video card and an amd athlon x2 7550 as my cpu. The 9400gt rates a 5.8 for gaming graphics on windows experience index, but the athlon x2 7550 maxes out on things that it shouldn't, and I have my eye on the amd athlon ii x2 250. So, what would increase my performance the most?|||although it is true that cpus aren't as important for gaming your video card is pretty good and your cpu kinda sucks|||You should definately get amd athlon x2 250. but if you mother board won't take that then go with the AMD Athlon II X4 635

http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-…|||personnal i would go with the CPU but i wouldn't go with the amd athlon x2 250, it's outdated....why don't u look at something like the amd phenom II x4 965 it's about 160 bucks... but if you mother board won't take that then go with the AMD Athlon II X4 635 which is 100 bucks|||I'd lean more towards the GPU, your CPU isn't as important for gaming|||Update both, your processor and graphics card. The GeForce 9400 GT will not manage modern-day games very well, so you definitely want to upgrade the graphics card to at least a GeForce GT 430, which should cost around $80 (assuming you live in the United States). If you can, try to overclock your Athlon X2 7550 through the BIOS. If overclocking is not possible, then just upgrade the processor to at least a 3 GHz dual-core or a 2.4 GHz quad-core.
