Okay, I am starting a fairly long journey in the process of re vamping my computer. On the list is a PSU a Video Card and a new Proc...
First off, with the christmas money I have, I am getting a PSu and a Vid Card. No idea what PSU, but I have been told to get the ATI Radeon HD4350, not sure what side brand to get, like HSI, Gigbyte, PNY, etc. Hopefully I will notice a big difference in that and my integrated nvidia 6150se nforce
I need to find a power supply as well to go with the video card for under 100 bucks or so. 450 watt I think would be a good number to go by.
Later on when I get more money, I was going to buy the AMD 64 x2 5600+ processor, rated at 2.9 Ghz, to improve over my current AMD 64 x2 4400+ at 2.2ghz.
I am hoping with the video card, and the processor unit I will be able to play most new games at low to mid settings. I also already have 4 gigs of DDR2 ram.
I am on here to ask a few questions. Mainly what PSU, Is that vid card the best bang for the buck (rem vid card and psu under 100) I don't THINK i need a low profile card but how do I find out?
Thanks.|||Personally, I prefer to stick to Nvidia (over ATi). Of course, money being an issue, I can see why people told you to go with ATi (as they are always cheaper). But as for the PSU, they come pretty cheap (so long as you don't go to BestBuy or buy from CompUSA). I suggest you try for at least a 500 Watt. For the graphics card, you can get a GTS 250 and it will play games like MW2 and L4D2 on high (and it only costs about $120).|||This is how it compares:

It looks like the upgrade would make a pretty big difference in performance, but you will need to keep settings low. If you want to be able to run NEW games at medium settings, you probably would need something slightly better like the ATI Radeon HD 4650.

Good power supplies for cheap cost. 450W should be good for a low end card, but you can get more Wattage at a cheap price on this site.
