I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9300-GS display adapter on my Dell Vostro 1520 laptop, but when I play games like WoW and Darkspore, it is extremely laggy with low frame rates (even with the lowest settings on the game). I tried updating the drivers, but they are already up to date. I did update my game addons and unchecked the out of date ones as well. I even went on the "Can you run it?" website, and it passed the requirements by a lot.
Anyone know what to do? Also, do you know where I could find the actual video card?|||If your video card is not working, you will not get ANY display
period|||The video card is working correctly. However, the 9300GS is not a gaming card, and it never has been. That's why WoW is running slowly.
Here's how you can tell.
Nvidia's 9000 series of cards is numbered like this:
GeForce 9300/9400: Low-end, video playback
GeForce 9500: Middle-low end, entry-level gaming
GeForce 9600: Midrange, mainstream, medium-detail gaming
GeForce 9800: High-end, high-detail gaming
All their cards are numbered this way so you know what kind of performance to expect. By the model number alone, the 9300 already implies that it can't run games. Also, these cards are about five years old now, and even the GeForce 9800 is a poor performer by today's standards.|||Being a fellow WoW player i can sympathize.
If you are expierencing low frame rates even with your Vid settings at the lowest it could just be as simple as the server or your connection. Or it could just be the population of your server. on my server whenever i enter a major city my FPS drop to single digits for a while too then steady out. I would also suggest, go into your WoW folder, C:/program files/World of Warcraft or wherever you have installed Wow Delete your WTF, interface, and cache folders. That will reset your World of warcraft and force it to re-recognize your computer setup and video settings, and that should help even things out. Every once and a while especially when a new patch has come out your WoW folder can corrupt so deleting your cache and WTF folders can often clear up problems.
once you do that you will have to reinstall your addons and reset your video settings in game but it should fix your issue|||Plain and simple: Your GPU sucks.
Time for a new one.
