Which is better a video card with a faster processor or a faster texture and fill rate?

it's called a GPU, not a processor.

but, define faster. are you talking about clockspeeds? or just overall faster by some obscure esotoric measure?

for gaming, you'll want to go with faster texture and fill rate.

either way, neither of those are really good measures of quality. what you'll want is to search online for benchmarks reviews of the specific cards you're thinkng of purchasing. the card that gets higher frame reates (at the same resolution and ingame quality settings) is the card you'll want.|||I'd say processor speed because the game speed would be faster but I think you would have a longer load time.|||you haven't really given 2 choices to compare to say what is better.... you'd need to find whats best for your computer... theres no need to have a serious gpu on a low end system, it will only bottleneck it and vise versa.... best 'bang for buck' is 8800GT / GS right now.... for a little more the 9800GTX... remember when upgrading to video cards like that be sure your PSU can handle it, elsewise trying to power too much on too little can result in destroying your whole pc
